Fontastic

I find it incredibly hard to get the tone of what I’m writing right.

And it became even harder the other day when someone told me they weren’t a fan of the font this blog was written in. I think they compared it to writing a love letter in crayon. The content might be there, but it loses its power because of the font it’s written in.

I suppose it makes sense, everything on this blog from the layout, my picture, the header and even to the font its written in all adds to its personality. But does it change the way you read it?

Have you considered what font you write in, and perhaps less importantly, should I change mine?

I think your font is fine… but then, it's not unlike the one I'd use. The only issue I can see with your layout is the width, which makes it harder to read the page quickly. The Australian used to be much the same, though.

I read most blogs in my reader until I come to post a comment.

I don't see anything wrong with your font.

the problem with html (at the moment) is that there's not a huge amount to choose from..

The font is fine, it looks professional and fits the tone of what I perceive your blog to be about. However, I do agree with the comment above about the width of your blog entries. A thinner width would make for an easier and possibly quicker read.

    @ Rachel

When I find a cheap coder, fixing the width is something I'll look at. Especially on a big monitor!

No big deal for me, Feedburner dictates your font anyway.
For someone like me who have myself half-naked on my blog fotn is not taking my sleep off.

your font is terrible!! you should use your $100,000 budget and buy yourself some design skills so you can fix this crap you call a blog. the content is even worse than the font. To be honest i feel sorry for your readers.

A font should be legible & have purpose. A Dutch company called Spanq designed their green font- it uses 20% less ink when printed (http://www.ecofont.eu/ecofont_en.html).

considering i read your posts in a reader, the font is fine. being a genY marketing guru, zac, you should know that it's the quality of the content that's important anyway, right? 😉

besides, what wrong with a love letter in crayon?

I'm loving all the anon. haters. :o)

I'm with the previous posters who suggested a more narrow width; font is a non-issue for people like me because I read the blog via a RSS subscriber.
